Hadiths Corrupted Islam. Reply to Sunni Jihadis.

Posted by QB on June 19, 2007

The corruption of Islam was started during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad when hypocrites started spreading lies and misinformation during his lifetime. These people were the enemies of God and Prophet who invented lies fabricated stories and were very systematically spread these among the people who had never met and see Prophet. The hadiths which are the main reason for the
corruption of Islam are collected 200 years after the death of Prophet Muhammad. The criteria for collection of these hadiths adopted by Bukhari and other hadith writers was very illogical and faulty which resulted in very confusing illogical unscientific stories attributed to Prophet Muhammad. The hadith writers according to my analysis really did not read the message of Qur’an before they started writing the sayings of Prophet Muhammad.

The criteria to judge hadiths authenticity was to verify the chain of transmitters to Prophet Muhammad time which is considered by Sunnis to be science of collecting hadiths which is known as “Ilm al Rajal” or “Isma Al Rajal” knowledge of people. Shias reject all the Sunni hadiths and they have their hadiths where were written 450 years after Prophet Muhammad death. Sunnis hadiths collection is based on companions of Prophet Muhammad and his family and Shia hadiths are based on Ahl e Bait (House of Prophet Muhammad) which only includes Prophet’s daughter Fatima, Prophet cousin Ali who was also the hushand of Fatima and their two sons Hassan and Hussein. Shias do not consider Prophet Muhammad wives as Ahl e Bait and the reason for this is they hate all the companions of Prophet Muhammad.

The God has promised to protect the message of Qur’an till the day of judgement is the only criteria we have to judge the authenticity of these fabricated stories written by majority of non Arabs so called Imams. Following is the verse which provide the proof that not all of the companions during Prophet Muhammad time were true believers.

9:101 Certain of the desert Arabs round about you are hypocrites, as well as (desert Arabs) among the Medina folk: they are obstinate in hypocrisy: thou knowest them not: We know them: twice shall We punish them: and in addition shall they be sent to a grievous penalty.

The following is the verse which provides the proof that these hypocrites were spreading lies and misinformation attributing it to Prophet Muhammad.

5:41 O Messenger! Let not grieve you those who hasten into disbelief of those who say, “We believe” with their mouths, but their hearts believe not, and from among the Jews. They are listeners of falsehood and listeners for other people who have not come to you. They distort the words from their context, saying, “If you are given this, take it; but if you are not given it, then beware.” And for whom Allah intends a trial never will you have power to do anything for him against Allah. Those are the ones for whom Allah did not intend to purify their hearts. For them in this world is disgrace and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.

The logical conclusion here is that if the hadith writers infact traced back the chain of transmitters back to Prophet Muhammad time than the lies and misinformation could not become the truth. The hadith writers criteria was what we call it “garbage in garbage out” in data processing terminology. The hadith writers which are called Imams and no criticism is allowed as it will be considered blesphemy making that person Apostate. The punishment for Apostate according to these fabricated corrupted hadiths is “death”. I have no religious eduction and can’t understand Arabic but it looks likes that have more knowledge of the message than these so called Imams.

The other argument these Sunni and Shia bring into discussion that Qur’an message can’t be understood without the help of hadiths. The hadiths creates doubts about the message that some of the verses of Qur’an are missing and Shias belief that complete message is with their disappeared Imam. The hadith writers put emphassis on the time of revelation and the purpose of revelation (Sabab Al Nazzul) of verses of Qur’an which is in my ignorant opinion is restricting the message to a particular condition or situation. The message of Qur’an is so broad that it can be applied to one’s life regardless of time region cultures limitation till the day of judgement. Honestly I did not read Bukhari or any other hadith writer explanation of Qur’an but know that Bukhari did not explain many Chapters (Suras) completely ignoring them in his Sahih Bukhari. The Shias on the other hand belief that nobody can understand Qur’an except (Ahl e Bait) so their hadiths consists of Ahl e Bait and their Imams. This is the most illogical approach accepted by Sunnis and Shias and it is clear contradiction of Qur’an. The Qur’an message which we consider to be the words of God clearly teaches us that Qur’an is easy to understand which provide all the details and He is not left anything out of message but still these Sunnis Shias insists that Qur’an is the summary and the details are provided in hadith books. The majority of Sunnis and Shias have no shame and fear rejecting the words of God for the love of their wordly gods.

These Sunnis and Shias also ask the question to show them where performing Salat in Qur’an. The Salat which is the most common practice is also corrupted by these hadith writers who had included lots of methods for saying Salat (Prayers). There is no way for us to know now how did Prophet Muhammad performed his prayers thanks to these moron hadith writers.

The message of Qur’an is easy to follow and be Muslim but it is really hard and confusing to follow Sunni or Shia hadiths and remain Muslim.

These hadith writers had included lots of stories which describes animosity between the closest companions of Prophet Muhammad including his wives daughter and his grand sons which all to me are lies when comparing them with the message of Qur’an. The following one verse is more than enough for me to reject all these disgusting fabricated stories. The Prophet Muhammad closest companions spend 23 years under his leadership and training could not started fighting each other power.

48:29 Muhammad is the apostle of Allah. and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward.

The hadith writers are the main cause of dividing Muslims into sects with their facbricated stories for the successor of Prophet Muhammad. According to the corrupted hadiths Aisha (Prophet Muhammad wife) and Ali (Prophet Muhammad cousin and his son in law) had the bloody military confrontation. The Islamic history to me is very much corrupted and we can’t trust what is writen simply because it is clear contradiction of Qur’an message. Anybody believe that Ali and Aisha fight a war means that they have not learned anything from Prophet Muhammad and ignoring the message of God. Anybody who believe Abu Bakr Omer Farouk Uthman and Ali were obsessed to grab the power immediately after the death of Prophet Muhammad just read and understand the above verse.

The hadith writers also included hadiths which to me are the insult to Prophet Muhammad and these hadiths are related to his private married life. These stories are absurd and are not necessary for the faith.

Here are few exaples of hadiths from Sahih Bukhari. Read and enjoy the science of hadiths. I did not find any science in these stories. These stories to me are illogical funny and fairy tales.

Prophet Moses beat stone.
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 277:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, ‘The (people of) Bani Israel used to take bath naked (all together) looking at each other. The Prophet Moses used to take a bath alone. They said, ‘By Allah! Nothing prevents Moses from taking a bath with us except that he has a scrotal hernia.’ So once Moses went out to take a bath and put his clothes over a stone and then that stone ran away with his clothes. Moses followed that stone saying, “My clothes, O stone! My clothes, O stone! till the people of Bani Israel saw him and said, ‘By Allah, Moses has got no defect in his body. Moses took his clothes and began to beat the stone.” Abu Huraira added, “By Allah! There are still six or seven marks present on the stone from that excessive beating.”

Prophet Moses spoiled the eye of Angel of death with slap.
Volume 2, Book 23, Number 423:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The angel of death was sent to Moses and when he went to him, Moses slapped him severely, spoiling one of his eyes. The angel went back to his Lord, and said, “You sent me to a slave who does not want to die.” Allah restored his eye and said, “Go back and tell him (i.e. Moses) to place his hand over the back of an ox, for he will be allowed to live for a number of years equal to the number of hairs coming under his hand.” (So the angel came to him and told him the same). Then Moses asked, “O my Lord! What will be then?” He said, “Death will be then.” He said, “(Let it be) now.” He asked Allah that He bring him near the Sacred Land at a distance of a stone’s throw. Allah’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, “Were I there I would show you the grave of Moses by the way near the red sand hill.”

Drink camel milk and urgine as medine.
No. 235 – Narrated Abu Qilaba:

Anas said, “Some people of ‘Ukl or ‘Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. So the Prophet ordered them to go to the herd of (Milch) camels and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they went as directed and after they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of the Prophet and drove away all the camels. The news reached the Prophet early in the morning and he sent (men) in their pursuit and they were captured and brought at noon. He then ordered to cut their hands and feet (and it was done), and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, They were put in ‘Al-Harra’ and when they asked for water, no water was given to them.” Abu Qilaba said, “Those people committed theft and murder, became infidels after embracing Islam and fought against Allah and His Apostle .

Volume 1, Book 5, Number 268:

Narrated Qatada:

Anas bin Malik said, “The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number.” I asked Anas, “Had the Prophet the strength for it?” Anas replied, “We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men).” And Sa’id said on the authority of Qatada that Anas had told him about nine wives only (not eleven).

These are only few of examples of science of hadith collection by the morons knowns as Imams.

Ahmed Ismail this is for your stupid comments which you posted on your blog. First I deleted you from my blogroll because of your hypocrisy. There are many blogs on my blogroll which are included without the knowledge of the blog adminstrators and I really don’t expect anyone to include me on their blogroll. This blog for me to say what is right whether religion or politics without worrying about the traffic. I have no intentions ambitions or desires to make this blog favorite on wordpress You really are stupid who can’t understand the first sentence of my previous post, read it again and if you don’t understand than go and ask someone with common sense. I posted this on my blog because it is impossible to have pleasant intelligent open conversation with religious fanatics Christians and Sunnis Shias. You again proved to be an idiot assuming that moderated comments is activated to delete comments which do not agree with my point of view. Moron look at the comments which strongly against my posts are still on the blog. Should you have the intelligence than you should have noticed this is because of huge amount of spam which I am trying to block. You started the personal attacks and this is my response to all your insults.

The truth is I never claimed to be knowledgeable religious scholar. I always said this many times before repeating it for you that I don’t have any religious eduction and what I am posting is according to my understanding of religions.

Thank you for sharing your personal insights into religion with us. There are many sources of “scholarly” info about religion. What we need more of is information from a personal perspective. We don’t need the “right” answers. We need personal answers. In this way we learn about our fellow human beings. Don’t mind the haters and whiners. I’ve added your blog to my blog roll. Keep sharing your personal view!

    salamun,

ITs appaling that a person who doesnt know even the basics of the science of hadith write a article denying hadiths, am sorry to tell u ur article is no where close to being a scholarly stuff,i advice u to fear Allah(swt) with respect to speaking things of which u have no knowlege,am sure u would have read nothing more than a book or so on this topic……… DO tell me what do u know about the science of hadith that u call it funny and illogical

    just to explain u:

The whole root of this problem is based on a common misconception amongst people that Ahaadeeth were collected and written down after 150 to 200 years of Prophet Muhammad (sallallaho alaihi wasallam) ‘s death. This misconception has led to people viewing hadeeth suspiciously as they surely can’t be authentic as they were collected much later.

but the fact is Ahaadeeth were compiled and written down since the time of Prophet Muhammad (sallallaho alaihi wasallam), Sahabah (radiallah tala anhum) had their own scrolls or books, with the help of these scrolls and books other hadeeth books were compiled later onwards.

At first the Prophet (sallallaho alaihi wasallam) stopped his companions (radiallah tala anhum) from writing down hadeeth. [Sahih Bukhari] then afterwards this was permitted, there is a narration regarding it.

Prophet of Allah (sallallaho alaihi wasallam) said to Abdullah bin Amr (radiallah tala anho): Write ahaadeeth, I swear by Him who holds my life in His hand, from this mouth nothing but the truth comes out. [Abu Dawood, volume 1, pg 158: Isnaad is Saheeh]

There are numerous traditions indicating the instruction of writing Ahaadith. Therefore, many Sahaaba recorded ahaadith in the Prophetic era. References are many of such collections and compilations:

THE SAHIFA (COLLECTION) OF ABDULLAH IBN AMR (Radhiallaahu Ánhu)
Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) is the greatest narrator of Hadith. Despite this he says, “No person has learnt more Hadith than me. However, Abdullah bin Amr (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) used to write the Hadith and I should not write.” This is clear evidence that Hadith used to be written in that era. Hadhrat Abdullah bin Amr (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) possessed a collection that exceeded one thousand Ahaadith. Ibnr-Rushd has mentioned in his Kitaab Asadul Ghaaba (vol. 3 pg. 233) that, this collection was named As-saadiqah.

THE SAHIFA (COLLECTION OF HADHRAT ALI (Radhiallaahu Ánhu)
Imaam Bukhari (RA) has mentioned in this Sahifa in the chapter of “Ilm” (vol. 1 pg. 21) and he has mentioned it in four places. The narrator Abu Juhaifa reports that, “I enquired from Hazrat Ali (R.A.), do you possess a book?” He replied: “No, except the Book of Allah or the understanding granted to a Muslim or what is in this Sahifa.” I asked him, “What is in this Sahifa?” He replied, “Orders relating to ‘Diyat’ (penalty or murder) – the freeing of prisoners and no Muslim will be killed in lieu of a kaafir.”

This Sahifa contained orders regarding, murder, compensations, capital punishments, details of Zakaat and matters relating to non-Muslim citizens in an Islamic State.

    KITABUS – SAQAH
This collection was personally dictated by the Holy Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam). It contained details regarding Zakaat, Ushar etc. According to some reports it seems as though this was written for the Zakaat collectors. However, the Holy Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) left this world before it was sent to them. This kitaab remained with Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar (R.A.). Eventually Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz memorized it and thereafter Ibn Shihaab Zohri memorised it.

    SAHIFA IBN ABBAS (R.A.)
Ibn Saad (R.A.) mentions in his kitaab “Tabaqaat” that the slave of Ibn Abbas (R.A.) said, “He found a large collection of the kitaabs of Ibn Abbas equal to a camel-load.”

SAHIFA JAABIR IBN ABDULLAH (Radhiallaahu Ánhu)
Imaam Muslim has reported that Hadhrat Jaabir (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) had compiled a book on Hajj. Imaam Bukhari mentioned this is his Taarikh-e-Kabeer vol. 7 pg. 186) – Hadhrat Qataaqda bin De’aama as-Sodusi had memorised this Sahifa.

SAHIFA SAMURA IBN JUNDOB (Radhiallaahu Ánhu)
Hafiz ibn Hajar (RA) reports that Hadhrat Samoora (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) has narrated a big (volume) chapter from his father. Imaam Muhammad ibn Sireen (RA) reports that the Kitaab which Hadhrat Samoora (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) has written for his children contains great knowledge.

    SAHIFA SAAD IBN UBADA
Ibn Saad reports in Tabaqaat that Hadhrat Saad (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) had a collection of Ahaadith.

    SAHIFA ABU HURAYRA (Radhiallaahu Ánhu)
Imaam Hakim mentions in Mustadrak that once Hadhrat Hassan ibn Umar narrated a Hadith to Hadhrat Abu Hurayra (Radhiallaahu Ánhu). Hadhrat Abu Hurayra denied the Hadith. Hadhrat Hassan told him, “I have narrated this Hadith from you”. He replied, “If I have narrated it, it will definitely be written down.”
He had written down all his Hadith in the end.

    SAHIFA IBN MAS’OOD
Hafiz ibn Abdul-Barr (RA) mentions in his Kitaab, Jaame Bayaan nul-Ilm that ibn Mas’ood (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) took out one Kitaab and swore an oath that it was compiled by him.

SAHIFA AMR IBN HAZAM (Radhiallaahu Ánhu)
When the Holy Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) appointed Hadhrat ibn Hazam (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) as a governor of Najran, he gave him a Sahifa which was written by Hadhrat Ubayy bin Ka’ab. It contained orders regarding cleanliness, purification, Salaat, Hajj, Umra, Jihaad, etc.

    SAHIFA IBN MUBAARAK
Hadhrat Sa’eed ibn Hilaal says, “When we frequented Hadhrat Anas bin Maalik he took out a volume and said, ‘I heard these from the Holy Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam). I have written it and preserved it.'” (Mustadrak Hakim vol. 3 pg. 54)

Though the writing of the Ahaadith had commenced it was not done in an arranged manner, i.e. it was compiled and codified. Due to the pre-occupations of the Khulafaa-e-Raashideen with the compilation of the Noble Qurãn and other important matters, it was not possible for them to accomplish this task.

However, when the politicians at the time of Hazrat Ali (R.A.) began to fabricate false Ahaadith Hazrat Ali became concerned about safeguarding the authentic Ahaadith. He used to stand on the mimbar and announce the authentic Ahaadith to the people. This continued till the period of Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (R.A.) who became the khalifa after the demise of Sulayman bin Abdul Malik. His khilafat lasted only for 2 years. After accepting khilafat, he wrote to the judge of Madinah, Abubakr bin Hazm saying, “Whatever you find from the Ahaadith of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam), write it down. I fear the loss of knowledge and the passing away of the Ulema.” (Bukhari vol.1 page 20)

Hafiz Ibn Hajar mentions that this letter was addressed to all the Judges of every province. A large collection of Ahaadith were compiled in this manner in the first century.

And the later scholars of hadith like imam bukhari(rh),imam muslim(rh) etc etc collected these hadiths and travelled through the length and breadth of the muslim hadiths further verifying and collecting these hadiths,do tell me what is it that u find illogical in this, compare this with how bible i.e old as well as new testament was compiled or collected! just think about this and do some indepth study of this subject rather than just seeking some superficial knowledge, any honest seeker of truth cannot fail to appreciate the science of hadiths……. may Allah(swt) guide all of us to Truth

    Waleikum Salaam Shahid,

I clearly mentioned it in my post that I have no religious eduction and this is all based on my own analysis of hadiths with the message of Qur’an.

What is the science justification behind stoning running away with Prophet Moses clothes and what religious lesson we learn from this hadith? We must not trust the stones when taking bath in river or lake or to show no mercy to the stone which run away with our clothes beat them severely.

Prophet Moses slapping the Angel of Death is the most absurd illogical unbelievable story Bukhari included in his book. What is the lesson we learn from this hadith? Prophet Moses was more powerful than God and Angels? Prophet Moses died at the age of 120 years and he must be very weak old man that time (age is based on my memory could be wrong).

Prophet Muhammad was the head of state, judge, Prophet of God do you really believe that all he was having sex during the whole day and night with his wives. Did Prophet Muhammad was telling stories about his married private life to these transmitters?

My advice to you is to read and understand Qur’an and analyze these hadiths with the message of God.

This is my understanding of the subject and sure I am no religious scholar. The truth is that have no religious education at all.

What I really feel after looking at the discussion is both muslims and christians believe in the return of Jesus. Let Jesus come and justify which one of the two religions is correct.

One can easily find similarities between Judaism, Christianity and Islam that doesnt mean to me that Muhammad copied it from the Torah or Bible, but it means to me that all the messengers with the book were sent by the same God.

Your comments on Hadith and its science are not right, because hadiths are totally based on Quran. Hadiths never contradicts the teachings of Quran.

  7. QB said

This is true that all the messengers come with the same message which is simple to worship One God.

Can you prove it that hadiths are based on Qur’an? Can you explain it me what is the importance of these hadiths which I quoted from the most respected Sunni Imam Bukhari. There are plenty of hadiths like the above quoted hadiths.

Glad that I found you. I am Muslim. I get very firm when someone asks if I am sunni or shia. I say I am a Muslim. Period. I read many blogs. I came across a blog that has a new member. She is a converted Muslim. Please tell if I am wrong, but I fee there is something wrong in almost everything she says:

“In my humble opinion…I think that people who oppose Zionism merely on the basis of their “evil doing” are going to miss the fact that there are a lot of evil doers in the world, not just one ideological type (and some muslims as well). What happens when you get rid of Zionism (in sha’allah)?
..you start all over again. No wonder they say history repeats itself. Because the solution is never adequately addressed d/t quietude and fear of ostracism.”

    ***
“You see, you cannot “believe” Mohamed was a prophet without accepting his final status OR that the Quran was the book he recited at the behest of the Creator who in turn said in THAT book:
Islam is superior to all other religions.
THAT is a huge point and one that most certainly annoys most people who are not muslim and hear it.”

Also, she compares what is going on with WestBank, Gaza and israel to the French Revolution/Reign of Terror.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this does not sit well with me. If you agree with me or disagree could you please expand on this with your own insights.

    Thank you.

Zionists are like Sunni or Shia who want to implement their corrupted Sharia Laws in every country on earth. Zionists are the ones who believe in greater Israel.

This is right that Muhammad was the last Prophet and Qur’an is the final revelation of God.

Palestinians and Israel conflict can be resolved if they open their minds instead of sticking to their wrong religious beliefs.

Jerusalam is sacred for Jews Christians and Muslims so lets share the city with appointing all three religious administration instead of insisting to have total control of the city.

  10. Andaleeb said

Thank you for your response. But isn’t it a bit arrogant to say that Islam is the superior religion to anyone regardless of their faith?

I cannot help but find this to be an ambiguous statement. It certainly cannot help to solve the problems in the world. People who convert to Islam are always inspired to [Cat Stevens] – I certainly don’t know how it helps Islam so say it is the superior religion. This is the opposite of inspiration to me.

    What do you think?

    • Iftakhar said

i believe your wrong. because Islam is the only Religion which is the tru divine law of God in every sense and if someone wants to convert you obviously want them to be in a Religion which truely Define God whch is Islam so as Muslims we should stand up to say Islam is the only true and superior Religion.

If anyone opposes this from a differnt Religion it is our duty to challenge them to prove to them that Islam and the Quran is the absoulute word of God, so they may find refuge in a Religion which will surely lead them to Paradise.

  11. QB said

I did posted reply to your last message but looks like get lost somehow.

I avoided intentionally to the question of superior religion because really don’t remember any verse where it is mentioned and don’t wanted to say something which is not correct.

The Qur’an teaches us that there is no compulsion in religion. Do not argue with Christians and Jews for the sake of argument on religion. There is a verse to tell the Christians and Jews that Muslim worship the same God. Also Qur’an teaches us that these differences will be resolved by our Creator on the day of judgement.

I don’t see that all the Muslims becoming Christians or all the Christians accepting Islam so there is no need for trying to prove each other religious beliefs false or one’s own religion superior to all other religions.

God has given us all free will to believe or not to believe in Him.

Simple solution follow what is right according to one’s personal understanding.

    Salam everyone.

I’m a muslim that follows Quran alone.

I was a former shia muslim. But when i read the Quran, i found the truth, and i found out that hadiths are just invention that has nothing to do with Muhammeds true system/religion or the true Islam.

Discover the true Islam, the Islam based on Quran alone:

    Salaam Da Kam,

God bless you that you find the truth. The problem is majority of Sunnis and Shias love to insult me on hadith issue but nobody is open to discuss it in open manner.

    Salam Brother QB

    God bless you too 🙂

have you been at free-minds.org or 19.org etc?

I found the truth about 6 months ago. You can read my story about how i came to Islam based on God alone/Quran alone at free-minds.org.

They are not open to discuss it because they put restrictionbs/limits to themselves.

How can God, the creator, The almighty be against science or constructive critisism when it was God that created all the planets in the universe with advanced science/philosophy etc.

Actually Quran has advancec psychology, advanced astronomy, advanced etiquette and lots of more.

God gave us a brain so we can use it. Not to put it on the shelves.

If a religion is a true religion, it should compatible with all goodness, with science, and with our intellect. The Quran is so great, that actually the Quran should be a rulegiver to all societies and all science. Not the opposite.

There are over 100 hadiths that contradict the quran. I don’t have time to post it here. But there are lots of articles abouth contradicting hadiths in the internet.

For all people interested in learning more about hadiths that contradict the Quranic verses, hadiths that contradict science etc.. read these 3 articles:

There is a maggieporter out there [ she has her own blog] who says she is a shia but not a Muslim.

    HUH?

She keeps on stating that Islam is a superior religion.

She uses these as her proof:

9:33 It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth, to make it superior over all religions, though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) hate (it). (Hilali and Khan, parenthetical notes are theirs)

9:29 Fight [q-t-l] against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. (Hilali and Khan, parenthetical notes are theirs)

48:28 He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), that He may make it (Islam) superior to all religions. And All-Sufficient is Allah as a Witness. (Hilali and Khan, parenthetical notes are theirs)

61:9 He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islamic monotheism) to make it victorious over all (other) religions even though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and His Messenger Muhammad) hate (it). (Hilali and Khan, The Noble Qur’an, Riyadh: Darussalam, 1996)

Perhaps she is twisting the scriptures here?

    Dear Sister Andaleeb,

The message of Qur’an could only be understood with carefully reading all the verses related to that particular topic instead of jumping on to conclusions with one verse.

9:33 It is He Who hath sent His Messenger with guidance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it over all religion, even though the Pagans may detest (it).

You can understand this verse more clearly when you look into context by reading the next verse and one preceding verse.

9:29 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

This verse simply advising the Muslims to fight any resistance (Fitna) rising in Muslim country where non believers learn to respect the laws. This is my understanding Kevin if you have better understanding of this verse please post it.

48:28 It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it over all religion: and enough is Allah for a Witness.

Allah has sent Prophet Muhammad to proclaim the message and there is clear difference in proclaiming something and imposing it without the will of people. Prophet Muhammad proclaimed the message with some accepted the message and there were plenty who rejected the message.

There is also verse which clearly teaches us that there is no compulsion in religion. Humans have the free will to accept it or reject it.

Please carefully read the following verses.

2:62 Those who believe (in the Qur’an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

2:113 The Jews say: “The Christians have naught (to stand) upon; and the Christians say: “The Jews have naught (To stand) upon.” Yet they (Profess to) study the (same) Book. Like unto their word is what those say who know not; but Allah will judge between them in their quarrel on the Day of Judgment.

2:120 Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: “The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance.” Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah.

2:135 They say: “Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (To salvation).” Say thou: “Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the True, and he joined not gods with Allah.” –

5:69 Those who believe (in the Qur’an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians and the Christians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness,- on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

29:46 And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, “We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our God and your God is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam).”

I encourage you to start reading Qur’an yourself and take my words that the message is so interesting that you will enjoy and the message will give you very broad minded approach towards other religious beliefs and faiths.

BTW why you keep going back to her blog.

maggie porter is actually infiltrating another blog. She is trying to cause divisions between muslims and christians and between muslims.

    maggieporter:
Since you are a non Shia muslim perhaps you can validate that meaning of Shia Taqiyya for her since she is a bit confused about “quietism”.
So should I refer to Saudi Arabia as a Shia state? Of course not…we know that Saudi Arabia is the breeding ground of Al Qaeda and they have a right hand man sitting next to Dubya Bush. So..what should I say about that noble country that seems to be a bit confused nowdays…
Should I just call them a regime or rather, the monarchy of the Al Saud family? That would probably be a better term.

To be honest however…it would be hypocritical of me to be that awful because I gained so much from my stay in Riyadh. I met many wonderful people of various sects…”crypto Shia” too…because in Saudi a Shia is a crypto person due to Sunni State persecutions. Then again…many Sunnis there refer to us “rafidis” as “Jews” so what can I say.

You tell me what you think I should “label” this non elected regime that has caused so much trouble in order to protect it’s own er….roots in Islam.

    _______________________________

So what she is doing, as far as I can see is labelling all sunnis as wahhabists. She claims only the sunnis are making deals with the jews.

Why does she say jews? She never says zionists. She has her information backwards and I feel she does this on purpose.

Sure Saudi Arabia is governed by apostates of Islam. But not all Sunnis behave this way, nor should they be represented by such dictatorships. Besides this shia and sunni thing is a perpetual dig she has going.

  33. QB said

The problem is that Muslims are divided into so many sects with so much hatred against each other. Wahhabis become the main target, blaming them for promoting extremism. Saudi Arabia rising unrest is the result of Royal Family wrong policies. Abdul Wahhab who is considered the founder of Wahhabism really did not promote extremism and violence. He teachings were to bring back Arabs to one God.

Thank you SJ. The criticism of Hadith writers is not personal insults, am questioning their intelligence and the method they use to collect these stories. Alims when get cornered they just run away insisting that hadiths are the mandatory part of Islam. Take the divorce law, Qur’an never say that it is the most disliked law by Creator Himself, the fact is that this understanding come from hadith which is again taken from Old Testament and New Testament, God did not give us any laws which He Himself don’t like.

a lot of people make similar claims, but they need to understand that such claims need to be backed by some serious research.
even though i may be called a “fundamentalist” by many people, i still think truth is more important than everything we have ever been taught, therefore, we shouldnt deny or accept anything until proven true or otherwise.
anyway. good luck with whatever you’re doing.

    Wqah,

Thank you for your decent comments. The Fundamentalists means someone going back to the basics or the roots of religious teachings. The Muslims who have given hadiths so much importance that they even ignore the message of Qur’an and they are not fundamentalists. Fundamentalists are who are following Qur’an.

    Thank you again Best Regards

  49. wqah said

Qb, but we cannot ignore the hadith altogether. Before denouncing any hadith as false, bogus, or fake, we need to be 100% (AND I MEAN 100%) sure about it and have proofs to back that claim.
The other way is; that if you think that something had been falsely added to hadiths, do not follow it, and just be responsible for your own actions and dont preach.
Please. Don’t preach unless you’re sure. There are a lot of former-muslims out there who have left islam due to similer reasons of thinking all of the quran and hadith as corrupted. Which is not true.

  50. QB said

    Wqah,

Thank you for your advice. I am not really preaching. The religious posts are my understanding of Islam, Judaism and Christianity which are all lost the essence of the message brought by Moses, Jesus and Muhammad after their deaths by introducing the laws to keep the control in the hands of religious hierarchy.

I have no religious education, can’t read Arabic Qur’an properly understand the meaning of Arabic words so am in no position to preach Islam or as a matter of fact any other religion.

33:21 VERILY, in the Apostle of God you have a good example for everyone who looks forward [with hope and awe] to God and the Last Day, and remembers God unceasingly.

Although i strongly disagree with the fact the you dont agree with the second coming of Jesus(pbuh), regardless of the hadiths, their is ample evidence of the second coming of him in the Holy Quran:

43:61 And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way.

I am torn apart because I don’t know if I should follow hadith because some of them directly contradict the Quran.

    For example:

    Bukhari (Ref: 1.299)

    Narrated Abdur Rahman bin Al-Aswad:
Aisha said: “Whenever Allah’s Messenger wanted to fondle anyone during her periods (menses), he used to order her to put on an izar and start fondling her.” Aisha added “None of you could control his sexual desires as the Prophet.”

    But the Quran says:

(2:222) They question thee (O Muhammad) concerning menstruation. Say: It is a vulnerable condition, so let women alone at such times and go not unto them till they are cleansed. And when they have purified themselves, then go unto them as Allah hath enjoined upon you.

So can someone explain the discrepencies?

We are quick to criticise Christians for following a book which has so many proven mistakes and yet we are ready to accept the Hadith from Bukhari even if some of them are directly contradicting the Quran and and describing Mohammed PBUH as a totally different man as shown in the previous quotations.

Also, have you ever read the Hadith on how it came about that we have to pray 5 times a day?? If you read it, it is kind of ridiculous. It makes you believe that Moses had the right to question Allah’s judgment on things.

Honestly I need to research this matter a bit more but I am afraid that my logic tells me that Hadith are doing more harm than good. Also, how many people refrain from joining Islam because some hadith says that he had sex with a 9 year old??

    • yasir said

regarding the fondling thing,,, i have no doubt,,, that u can kiss ur women squeeze or etc during periods but u can not have sex(intercourse) with them. this is what quran mentioned. regarding the hadeeth of prayer of 5 time,, it realy dosent make sense to me too, that Moses had more knowledge of humans than ALLAH, the creator that they cannot offer 50 prayers… it is beyond my thinking

Looks like I am late to the party, but I just want to say that I am so happy to find out (on this post) that there are people who think the same way as I do. I am a convert to Islam, it appealed to me through my logic, and I found myself following “rules” which seemed illogical. I have many arguments about this, including one with a loved one over evolution..I believe that evolution and creationism don’t have to contradict each other and that believing God went “poof” to create conscious, spiritual beings undermines his intelligence and ability. Science supports Islam, and Islam supports science. I am disappointed that my faith has been highjacked by myopic misogynists. 😦 …anyway, thanks for being there, even if we haven’t the ability to change mainstream beliefs about Islam (for both muslims and non-muslims alike), at least we can find comfort in openminded, tolerant others like ourselves. Peace out.

The Quran provides the system and the procedures vary because of location, culture, etc. The most important thing is the outcome of our doings is always filled with IHSAN. The Quran if complete, perfect and fully detailed. We make procedures based on permanent rules given by Allah. Why? Because we are not machines. We have freewill and intellect. There is no logic behind judgement day if we are mechanical creatures.

Whenever a hadith (quotation) is presented to you in my name, verify it in the light of the Qur’an. If it agrees with the Qur’an, accept it, if it is in conflict, discard it.

I think the muslims of this generation are confused to what they should really believe in, and as a result you see, conflicts, arguments and even some leaving Islam all together. The true seekers should not just believe in what they are told from the older generations, such as family, friends and even imans. The different sects rely too much on hadiths and other sources besides the Qu’ran that they forget the true religion of Islam.

At some point in our lives, some will question what they believe in is in fact real or not. When we are younger, we are expected to follow and believe our community members, friends and family without any real knowledge and the credibility. The fear is if you neglect the hadiths you are not acknowledging the prophet. On the other hand if you soley go by Qu’ran you are doing what god told us to do, to follow and read the holy book only and not from other sources which are open to distorations, misconceptions and misinterpretations.

If you believe what everyone else does, how can you be open minded to see what you may follow may infact be totally wrong and it just adds to the burdens and confusions of ones life.

I am just giving my personal opinion, of finding the true meaning and wisdom within to guide us to the right path.No ones perfect, not even imans. So just because one who may not be educated enough in this field, doesn’t mean the imans or the scholars will always be right. After all god is the all knowing and he is infallible.

Always try to seek the knowledge on your own terms and not let others intervene in your quest for searching the true path! It is the one who will face god alone on the day of judgement, and no scholars or even the prophets will save us.

    ACTUAL STATUS OF HADITH

I have read this all discussion. But waht “QB’ has said in the beginning of this page is 100% correct. All the coruption & split in umma today we see is due to forged hadiths. In Quran, Allah has said many times ” that do not believe in any other hadith but the AHSAN Hadith of Allah which is Quran. and Quran also fully depicts sunn of our beloved Prophet. Some people has lied in this blog that Hadith was present from beginnig. In fact we can find even in hadith books in many places that

Prophet said “Do not take any thing from me except Quran. Once Prophet saw some people writing some thing and he asked what are u writing, they answered “ur Hadith”. Prophet said, So should u write a book beside Kitaab Allah; who has writen it he should erase it.
    (Msanad Ibne Hanbal)

It was forbidden in the time of 4 Guided Caliphs to write any Aadith except Quran. Ummar Khattab even prisioned some sihabees who possessed some hadith. Abu Bakar had some Hadith notes but later he collected them and burned them All.

Even first Fiqa Imam Abu Hanifa always consulted Quran only. Imam abu hanifa’s time was before all imamas and before all Persian hadith writers. So did he leave any hadith book?. NO. One many came to Abu Hanifa and he said that he has listened from prophet that to make one time wadoo is Half Iman. Imam told him, now u make two time wado and ur imam will be full. One person brought forged hadith that was contradicting Quran. Abu Hanifa told him, take that report and rub it with the tail of Khanzeer (PIG). Abu hanifa was strictly against ahdiths as he was aware these are all forged.

Persian Mullas collected about 2.3 millions hadiths and found 99.2% forged. So to find one true hadith in this situation is like to find a tiny diamond in an ocean that is full of dirty water.

If read following report carefully which fully debunks the fasle propoganda of those who say, hadith is part of Islam

“Zayd Ibn Thabit (the Prophet’s closest revelation writer) visited the Khalifa Mu’aawiya (more than 30 years after the Prophet’s death), and told him a story about the Prophet. Mu’aawiya liked the story and ordered someone to write it down. But Zayd said, “The messenger of God ordered us never to write anything of his Hadith.”

NO. I find it amazing that the hadiths were corrupted and that muslims didnt notice that for 1400 years..? I also find absurdaties in quran paralles to the wired hadiths, for example when God turned jews into apes and pigs becouse they were fishing on a sunday. I also appreciate if somone could clarify for me if Quran only muslims deny the abrogations. Becouse what you would have left is just a book with both Meccan and amdinan verses, and which one should one follow. And alos what happend with ayat Al-Rajim and what happend with the goat that ate it?

unfortunately, today most muslims take hadith as explanation to Quran.when growing up, seing your older ones following hadith most people do not question the authenticity of the source and follow without doubt thinking that my older ones know what they do. well it is shame that 99% of muslims do belive in hadith fabrications and think that it is necessary to understand GOD’s book Quran. For them GOD was not open and clear enough so that they take hadith fabrications as a religious source.
Allmuslims should read Quran nothing but Quran to follow the religion in its pure form.

  75. resat said

Quran, as GOD says in it, is easy to understand and is complete. People, mostly Hadith- all fabrications- belivers claim that it is hard to understand and it does not contain all practices. Quran readers know that all practices come from Abraham not from Muhammad. Salat prayers, zakat charity, Haj was present before Muhammad.
Another thing, unfortunately most muslims countries are 3rd world countries, where education levels are low and very high number of population could not read and write still. When practice religion, they believe what they are told by their imams and never question them.
If we increase levels of education and teach people to ask questions, with todays internet I am sure sooner or later people will see the truth.
Happiness is submission to GOD ALONE.

I still havn’t let go of hadiths totally as I often feel frightened and think “what if” but I would feel that way in any path I chose to follow because we still never know…It makes me so angry when I read there stupid arguments talking about people with knowledge!! does it never occur to these foolish people that perhaps there using baseless hadiths of which they have knowledge! furthermore, these imams who compiled the hadith who said they claimed to have knowledge? are there names mentioned in the Quran? what makes them think they had knowledge? ermmm I think accepting hadith as 100 percent infallible is basiclay coparing GOD TO IMAMS…God sent scriptures before the Quran and they were always corrupted! but the Quran was protected so what did people do? they made another body of literature to corrupt ISLAM instead as it couldnt be done via the QURAN!!! think u silly people….why wouldnt got mention sucha major punishment such as stoning to death for adultry in the quran and wait for men to write it years later??? people dont use their reason and I think they need a slap for doin that

The list of the five pillars:
1.say the the two confesses that there is only ONE GOD(ALLAH in arabic word referring to God) and Muhammad is a Prophet.
2.perform five times pray a day
    3.pay Zakat(Islamic taxes)
4.fasting in the month of Ramadhan
5.perform Hajj (holiday visit to Mecca)

The list of the 6 Islsamic faith:
    1.Believe in God(Allah in arabic)
    2.believe in Angels
3.BELIEVE IN SACRED BOOKS(TORAH,BIBLE AND KORAN)
    4.Believe in prophets
5.Believe in Kiamat(The END OF THE WORLD)
6.believe in Qada’ & Qadar(the will of God)

well, that’s my believe & understanding but not The hadith. Is there any word of Hadith mention in the Pillars?certainly not at all!In conclusion, not all Muslim believe in Hadith(very little).we are the liberal Muslim community are free from the corrupted hadith.it is really contradict with the religion & humanity. We love interreligious & interracial Integrity & love Peace.Thank you. 🙂 P.E.A.C.E

Religious prayers and all other religious activities such as zakat, fasting, hajj were already present long before Quran was sent to humanity through Muhammad. All these were sent to Abraham and was exercised by all messangers and believers in those years so Quran does not tell you how to perform them. Hadith, fabrications of disbelievers, was unfortunately is accepted as a religious source with the book of Quran. Those hadith followers will not take Quran as only religious source for Muslims arguing that it is not complete… I guess they don’t understand what they read, but then again God tells in Quran that He will make disbelivers deaf and blind…
My question to all of you as I know my answer anyway,…
CAN I BE A PERFECT MUSLIM IF I READ AND FOLLOW QURAN AND REFUSE HADITH?
Well to me there is only one book in religion of ISLAM – that is ALLAH’s book, the Quran, only valid religious source that nobody can argue its source.
Do you want to follow fabrications or Quran?

To people like this whatever elderly people do, they know it better because they are older and they know what they do. It is a common behaviour. Unfortunately that is why majority of Muslims are like this. Never learned to ask questions, they are scared. Blinded Hadith followers.

It is unlikely that Bukhari’s selection could have been anything but subjective.

To analyse 600,000 hadiths withing 16 years suggests the following impossible scenario:

    37,500 hadiths per year = 3,125 per month = 104.66 per day

30 days in a month = 8.68 hadith per hour (assuming a 12 hour day).

No breaks for meals, 5 times prayer, no toilet, no public holidays, sick days, etc.

The horrifying brutality, horrible statements against women, scientific blunders, silly legends all point to a very foolish and gullible editor who selected hadiths rapidly according to his personal taste and whim and called this ‘science’. Shame on anyone who believes any of these hadiths are not suspect!

    • peace quran bible, excellant article on hadith rejection, well done for voicing your thoughts, and i agree with you 100%

as i grew older i started questioning things and wanted answers,so i started looking up answers from hadiths etc but they confused me even more, then i started studying the quran translations and realised some of their translations were based on the hadiths eventually i found a quran translated based on the qurans arabic and not influenced by any hadiths.

over time i started feeling this strong bond with almighty i studied the quran more and more with a open mind and allowed god to help me understand and feel his guidance, i prayed and seeked his forgiveness and begged him to show me the right way, and you know wat i woke up one morning feeling like i’ve never felt before, i cried with rejoice as i realised he wants me to pray to him alone and seek him spiritually,i understood at that moment onwards i had been living my life following man made rules, hadiths telling me to use the right foot to enter the toilet, or pray to the prophet and seek forgiveness? beg the prophet to intervene for me on the day of judgement… how naive was i….simply following what my parents taught me…

what i had been practising were not part of gods quran, ..therefore doing what god has not authorised is like following orders of another god!

the message in the quran is follow almighty’s sunna and the hadith of allah, no where does it state the hadith of prophet muhammed,he was AN EXAMPLE to us for he followed the quran!

The prophet was against any writings about him,he ordered his companions at the time to destroy anything attributed about him, as he only preached the quran, and nothing else.

what are these so called muslims doing, insulting god by saying his quran is too difficult therefore we need man made stories and rules which were again created 200 years after the prophets death.

how can people not see that, through out the ages almighty has been sending his books down with one simple message there is no other god but him and we are to follow his guidance in order to succeed in this life.

above all this islam or submission to almighty, means to follow his guidance for he states in the quran it is fully detailed, he did not leave anything out of it,

[018:109] Say, “If the ocean were ink for the words of my Lord, the ocean would run out, before the words of my Lord run out, even if we double the ink supply.”

[031:027] If all the trees on earth were made into pens, and the ocean supplied the ink, augmented by seven more oceans, the words of GOD would not run out. GOD is Almighty, Most Wise

NO.. intercession will be allowed on the day of judgement..prophet muhammed was not infallible, we must make no distinction in our prophets and messngers, these arent my words they are gods. yet still ppl are fighting each other in the name of god, shia v sunni, etc.

i reject the hadith and follow the quran alone, everything is in the quran and anything that it isnt well common sense tells you to do what ever you fell is right, use the brain and judge for yourself.

how dare people call the followers of the quran as kaffir, so that includes the prophet in that does it???

the prophet muhammed followed the quran and worshipped almighty allah or not?? he practised what he preached or did he have to refer to hadiths based on him? or based on abraham the founder of islam? think people, take off your blinkers and stop acting like sheep in a herd all baa..ing the same tune, almighty has given you a brain so use it, read the quran and if almighty wills he will teach you its meaning,

peace and blessings of god be with you all

I am a revert, of about a year, and I have submerged myself is the study of this religion. I came to Islam, completely without the Hadith, and I am very thankful for that! It seems to me that Hadith are the clearest division amongst Muslims and that hurts my heart.

The Hadith are put together just like the Bible was, which is why I left Christianity. The line of transmission is like telephone tag, and there is no way that all of the Hadith are correct.

The Qur’an is the infallable word of God, so why do I need a go between anyway?

Salams. I am a revert Muslim of 7 months from Christianity too. I thort I was alone with my thoughts. When I reverted I didn’t even know what Hadith was just the Quran. So when I first heard about them I was like what??? I love the Quran so much. And the Hadith is destroying this beautiful religion. All the muslims just tell me to pretty much except the hadith regardless if it’s anti-women or contradictary to the Quran or just degrading Mohammeds pbuh image. Like seriously do they believe he slept with a child? When I first found this out (bout 2 weeks of reverting) I was going CRAZY in my mind. Like I CANNOT ATTRIBUTE this to him. Or the hadiths about women. The Quran translations and commentaries are so anti-women.Sunnis and Shias comeon, no wonder why everyone hates Muslims. Quran makes me as a women feel COMPLETELY DIFFERENT then the hadith. People need to know about the Quran. we need to stop focusing on man made crap. My WHOLE family are non Muslims and I’m sure people here are like me. We need to get the Quran out there in the right way so our families at least think we are not in some anti women oppressive religion. And if ALLAH wills he will make our family find the truth like us and not some stupd speech by some Sunni or Shia making us ALL look bad on tv guiding them. Lol I got it all out now lol PEACE

    1) FABRICATIONS WITH THE INTENTION OF ADULTERATING THE RELIGION
Infidels have invented innumerable hadiths with a view to perverting Islam and adulterating the religion. Later, they and a host of non-believers who succeeded them used these hadits to subvert the foundations of Islam. Concealing their lack of faith in Islam, their hatred and the grudges in their hearts, they infiltrated into the midst of people clad in the garb of the true believer, and tried to sow dissent among the faithful and arouse suspicion in their minds. With this aim they invented an infinite number of concocted hadiths ascribing their authorship to the Prophet. There are verses in the Quran that speak of the hypocrites who had already infiltrated among the people during the lifetime of the Prophet.
The notorious atheist Abdulkerim b. Abil Avca had made the following statement before he was decapitated under Caliph Mahdi: “You are killing me; yet I have invented 4000 hadiths that adulterated your religion, turning the lawfully permitted into what was forbidden by the religion and the forbidden into the permitted.” Considering that there are 6000 verses in the Quran, the invention of 4000 hadiths by one single man can give you an idea of the harm that the so-called hadiths may have done. It is reported (by Ibni Hajar, Lisan’ul Mizan) that the number of hadiths invented by Ahmad bin Al Juvaybari, Muhammad bin Ukesha and Muhammad bin Tamim exceed, 10,000. Zahabi states that Ahmad bin Abdullah had invented thousands of hadiths allegedly based on hearsay evidence, ascribing his concoctions to the hadith imams. He mentions that he had heard from Dinar Abu Mikyas, who claimed to be the servant of Ahmad bin Abdullah, a whole invented page alleged to have originated from Anas bin Malik (Zahabi, Mizan). The hadith books are full of inventions willfully made to adulterate the religion. This is an established fact. But who can come forth and say that this hadith is authentic while that one is unauthentic? Who can claim that the sinister plots of the hypocrites already swarming around during the lifetime of the Prophet have not watered down what we have as hadiths today?
    2) FABRICATIONS BY DISSIDENTS
Not forty years had elapsed before clashes began between Ali, son-in-law of the Prophet, and Muaviya. From this moment on the world of Islam entered a phase of schisms and political turmoil. Politically disintegrated communities, deemed mutual excommunication and antagonism praiseworthy acts, invented hadiths in support of their respective ends and concluded that belief in their own political ideals was God’s order. They praised themselves to the skies while belittling the leaders of the opposition. We read in Halili that some 300,000 hadiths had been invented by Shiites in connection with Ali, son-in-law of the prophet, and the way Ali’s sayings had been distorted (Halili, Al Irshad). This number represents 50-fold the number of verses in the Quran. Someone who had broken away from the Shiites had declared: “May God punish them, they invented innumerable hadiths” (Muslim, Sahihi Muslim). The Sunni viewpoint that favored Abu Bakr to Ali and considered this as a requirement of their school of religion and their age old controversies outside the confines of the Quran is a good example. When Islam became politicized, those who wielded political power made use of religion to give shape to public opinion according to their interests. Thus they manipulated the people with a view to molding them to suit their own ends by making additions and omissions in religious practice.
    3) FABRICATIONS BY THOSE WHO THOUGHT THAT THE REVELATION NEEDED TO BE SUPPLEMENTED
Innumerable prominent persons reputed to be accomplished Muslims(!) are beautifully described by Yahya bin Said: “No greater lies were told in the field of hadiths than those pronounced by the devotee.” The author of one of the two major hadiths books said to be most reliable, Muslim, asserts and declares this fact. Muslim transmitted the following from what he had heard from Abu Zannat: “I came across some one hundred people in Madina, they were reliable people without exception, but the hadiths they transmitted were not creditable” (Muslim, Sahihi Muslim). As one can plainly see the fact that a good many pious people had invented hadiths they ascribed to the Prophet and this was an established fact in the eyes of the transmitters of the hadiths themselves. These people who deemed their opinions worthy of being added to the body of traditions believed that they had done a laudable act; for instance, by inventing something that the Quran did not contain, namely the segregation of men and women. They may have thought that by separating the men’s and women’s sections, adultery and corruption would be prevented. They should have put on their thinking caps and thought that had God so willed this, He would have included it in His Book. To expect that interpolating something one believes beneficial into the established religion is a primitive method of reasoning and its grave consequences are well known.
    4) FABRICATIONS TO MAKE RELIGION ATTRACTIVE TO PEOPLE
This item has some similarities with the preceding one. The types of persons under this heading are convinced that they will contribute to the promotion of religion, as if God needed their assistance, to make religion and ritual appear pleasant to the eyes of the public. This populist concern caused the revealed religion to be adulterated by invented hadiths and interpretations. Among these promoters of religion was also a man by the name of Abu Ismet Nuh who had invented a hadith to extol and exalt every Sura of the Quran. There are hadiths concocted with a view to praising the Prophet’s merits. These people argued as follows: “We told no lie on behalf of the Prophet; we did it simply to consolidate his message” (Ibn Hajar, Fethul Bari). What they did was not fraudulent according to them; they even considered their act a laudable and pious one.
These devout fanatics have formed one of the most dangerous religious classes. In fact, they were considered reliable people favored by the public whose behavior and acts they emulated. A tradition transmitted by them was accepted without any objection. In this way, the pure religion was watered down and the newly shaped creed replaced the original Islam.
    5) FABRICATORS WHO TRIED TO JUSTIFY THEIR SECTS AND IDEAS
Removed from the original pattern of Islam, people took man’s word for the word of God; this gave rise to wide divergences in Islamic concepts. Conflicting conclusions and dissensions led to the formation of schools or sects. People estranged from the true source of religion, the Quran, became partisans of factions. In this attempt, to justify their arguments and influence the public, they felt the need to base themselves on the hadiths fabricated to praise their respective sects while disparaging others. To give you an example, the following is a hadith fabricated by the members of the Hanafi sect: “Among my community an imam by the name of Shafi will rise. He is a fiend and his influence will be detrimental, worse than Satan’s. Among the members of my community a person by the name of Abu Hanafi will rise and he will be the light of my community” (Ibn Arrak, Tenzihus Sharia). On the other hand, the partisans of Imam Shafi did not remain idle; they also concocted hadiths. “The Quraish scholar (Imam Shafi) will spread his wisdom over the earth.” Then came the turn of the partisans of Imam Maliki and did not fail to declare their hadith. “A day will come when the necks of camels will be cut (long distances will be covered) and there will be no one wiser than the scholar of Medina” (Imam Maliki).
Abu Raja Muhriz, an old member of the Kadiriya order of dervishes, said: “Don’t let any hadith be transmitted from any member of Kadirie; for we fabricated hadiths with a view to drawing people to our sect, hoping thereby to perform a laudable and pious act. In this way I enrolled four thousand souls” (Ar jarhu we’l tadi’l).
    6) FABRICATIONS UNDER PRESSURE
As we have already pointed out, at the beginning of the movement of the collection of hadiths, especially under the Omayyad caliphs, threats and torture were everyday occurrences. The following saying of Ez Zuhri, claimed to be the first collector of hadiths, is evidence of this: “We did not like to invent hadiths. But the administrators (the Omayyad caliphs and their men) forced us to do it.” In collections made under pressure, the hadiths selected were those that gratified the powers that supported the conceptions of administrators related to culture, traditions and history. A great many of them were used to conform and corroborate traditions. For instance, when reference was made to a particular act of the Prophet, they used the introductory phrase: “The Prophet said that…” or “The Prophet has ordered that…” All the inventions and semantic deviations were carried out under the command of the powers in conformity with the views and concepts they cherished. Interpolations made under pressure were not confined to the Omayyads and the Abbasids. These interpolations of fabricated hadiths were later transformed into fatwas and canonical jurisprudence under the pressure of caliphs and governors. Under the Ottomans, the caliphate was to pass from father to son, and fratricide for the welfare of the State came to be admitted within the framework of these fatwas and canonical jurisprudence. This attitude is an indication of the freedom that the powers in charge enjoyed in regard of the revealed religion. All these took place at the request of the Sheikhulislam, considered an imposing personality clothed with authority and paid by the government.
    7) FABRICATIONS BY SEEKERS OF MATERIAL GAIN
Travelers who set out on journeys to collect hadiths had lucrative objectives. It is reported that Yakub b. Ibrahim would not transmit any hadiths unless he was paid one dinar per hadith. Abu Naim al-Fadl expected a consideration per hadith transmitted. Ali b. Jafar, a student of his, reported: “We copied hadiths from Abu Naim al Fadl in return for which he received from us precious dirhams. If the dirhams we had about us happened to be low in value, he asked extra consideration.” “There was no end to the liars wallowing in riches,” had retorted Ali b.Qasým to Shuba b. Hajjaj who had said that Umera b. Hafsa was rich, consequently he would not lie, and the hadiths he transmitted should be trusted after his special injunction to the effect that no hadiths should be received from the poor (Al kifaya).
There were also people who produced hadiths to order. In order to promote their merchandise many traders had recourse to the hadith agents in return for money, and had them invent hadiths extolling the benefits of the goods they sold. An example of this is the case of the perfume sellers who had invented hadiths praising the benefits of fragrance. Hadith fabricators like Abu’l Mujazzam, who fabricated 70 hadiths in return for one kurush as reported by Shuba b. Hajjaj, may be given as an example.
    8) FABRICATORS, SEEKERS OF SPIRITUAL ADVANTAGE
After the death of the Prophet and following the era of the first Four Caliphs, a class of people styled as story and parable tellers had developed the habit of sitting in mosques to preach, and people made a circle around them. What they were actually interested in was creating an image of superiority and repute in the minds of the public. They arranged their sermons to suit their ends. They well knew that the path that led to fame passed through religion, an institution of towering importance for the public; therefore, they took special care to have recourse to rhetoric and make their audience cry by the dramatic effects they created. They interspersed their stories with legends they fabricated about the Prophet. Heaven and hell were described with pathos to overpower their audience.
Although nothing was missing in the Quran about hell and heaven, these story and parable tellers drew on a great scale on the lore of hadiths to mystify and exhilarate people. Their professional merit was based on the extensive use they made of hadiths. This tragicomic picture of the state of affairs gave rise to the following incident: upon the announcement by Kulsum, the poet, that anyone who could touch his nose with the tip of his tongue would be spared the torture of hell, the congregation he preached to began to try it. Ibn ul Jawzi described these people as follows: “Among them were people who dipped their faces into all sorts of dyes to give their complexion a pallid appearance with a view to giving the impression that this was due to their fasting and devotion. There were others who made use of their fasting and devotion. There were others who made use of salt to bring tears to their eyes whenever they wanted to. Still others displayed great courage by throwing themselves down in a fit of transport from the chair above which they had lavishly decorated, or they banged on the desk and climbed and descended the flight of stairs in an agitated mood making violent gestures and gesticulations in the course of the narration of their stories that appeared odd to unfamiliar eyes” (Ibn ul Jawzi, al-Kussas wel Muzekkirin). A cursory examination of our environment will show us that these human figures described by Ibn ul Jawzi are reminiscent of the ‘impostor-fabricators’. Crocodile tears, running noses and excessive saliva, banging and gesticulating must associate in the minds the story-tellers described by Ibn ul Jawzi.
There was no limit to the imagination of the tellers of cock-and-bull stories. There was a man by the name of Jafar b. Nastur Frab who claimed to be three hundred and twenty years old and had had the opportunity of seeing the Prophet, and because of the Prophet’s prayers, he had lived for so many years. Rafan’s case was similar. These men, who lived in the fourth and eighth centuries AH, claimed they had been companions of the Prophet, and Rafan wrote a book that contained three hundred hadiths and had succeeded in gathering around him many disciples.
    9) FABRICATIONS TO GIVE A PLACE FOR TRADITIONS AND CUSTOMS IN RELIGION
As we may well remember, the Quran has laid down certain precepts, injunctions and commands leaving a great many issues to the discretion of man. We studied this point in Chapter 2 and will be further tackling it in Chapter 39. Men are supposed to act as it may seem best to them in their own respective fields within the framework of their traditions, customs and views of the world. The Quran makes no mention of any table manners and does not say whether we should eat with our fingers, use a fork or sticks or not. There is no prescription for the garments a man or a woman should wear, whether a man should wear a turban, a mantle, a necktie or a shirt or whether a woman should wear a kimono. Given the fact that we are free in our actions in the fields left to our discretions, we are at liberty to choose among the alternatives mentioned above. To say that something is permissible or not would contradict the Quran. An important part of the interpolations during the reign of the Omayyads and the Abbasids was made under the guise of traditions and customs to which they gave a holy character. The Quran was explicit and contained nothing regarding traditions and customs. The thing to be done therefore was to invent hadiths and give a sacred character to traditions and customs in a Sunni background. Because of the racist and tribalist concepts of the Arab-Omayyad, many traits were introduced in the religion as practiced, ranging from the Arabic language to the fashions of the time, the food, and the manner of using the toilet (for details see Chapter16).
    10) FABRICATIONS RESULTING FROM INTERPOLATIONS INTO THE RELIGION OF STORIES FROM OTHER RELIGIONS
This subject may be studied in two sections: the first section will deal with people who deliberately invented stories with a view to corrupting religion rendering it illogical or transforming it to fit one’s own faith. The second section is related to those people who felt obliged to bring into Islam their former creeds and customs before conversion into Islam. Jewish parables, Christian legends, pagan customs and the shamanic concepts of the Turks were introduced into Islam either as hadiths or canonical jurisprudence. In terms of the space they occupy, the Jewish legends have a larger space compared to Christian ones. The legends inherited from other religions dating far back in history infiltrated Islam as they found it easier to have access. We shall confine ourselves to the former ones.
Kab al Ahbar, Wahb b. Munabbih and Abdullah b. Selam were the prominent figures that brought into Islam the Jewish legends. In speaking for the foremost fabricators of hadiths we shall take up this point to show how much Jewish sources can be dependable. One thing is certain: some Muslims saw no contradiction in narrating these legends along with the Quranic verses. This is one of the reasons that inflated the volume of hadiths. In a great many hadith books and the commentaries, we often come across invented stories ascribed to these people. Let us give two examples to illustrate this. The hadiths whose origins go back to Jewish lore transmitted by Wahb Munabbih run like this: “The people of Bayt ul Makdis are God’s neighbors. God takes special care not to grieve His neighbors. Those who are buried in Baytul Makdis are spared from the ordeal of a grave.” Another fabrication attributed to Kab al Ahbar, mentioned in the commentary of Kurtubi, runs as follows: “When God created it, the sky said: ‘God has created no greater entity than me.’ And it proudly swayed to and fro. God caused it to be encircled by a snake with 70,000 wings, each of which having 70, 000 feathers. Each feather had 70,000 faces. Each face had 70,000 mouths. Each mouth had 70,000 tongues. Its tongues repeated God’s name every day as many times as there are raindrops, leaves of trees, grains of sand and pebbles, the days of the world and the number of angels. The snake coiled around the sky and the sky could attain only half of it. Only then did the sky begin to be modest.”
On the other hand, Tamim ed Dari and Ibn Jurayj may be held responsible for the interpolations into Islam of stories of Christian origin. The second coming of Christ, the Antichrist, the Angel of Death and heaven and hell may be traced back to Christian legends. (In Chapter 20, we shall tackle the problems given rise to in Islam by the Second Coming of Christ and Mahdi and the Antichrist.)
The traditionalist fundamentalists, furious at the Muslims who based Islam exclusively on the Quran, are mad at the researchers who preach the unreliability of the hadiths. Regardless of the intention of these researchers, what concerns us is the scholarly value of their work. These people who had adopted an unbiased approach, which is inexistent in Muslim communities, have incontestably put forward serious facts, meat for thought. We must adopt an impartial attitude toward their work, find out their mistakes, if any, and try to benefit from their discoveries. Among these, we must especially single out the works of Goldziher, Schacht, van Kramer, Sprenger and Dogi. Goldziher, the most renowned scholar among them, says: “The sayings of Jewish and Christian scholars, the quotations made from the gospels, the doctrines of Greek philosophers, the literary extracts of Persian and Indian origin, etc. have infiltrated Islam. All these, directly or indirectly became integrated into Islamic culture. A great many religious parables have found their way to Islam. If we examine the material used in the hadiths and Jewish culture, we observe the extent of them in Islam” (Goldziher, Al Akida Wes Sharia).

    Salamun-Alykum,

According to Sunni hadith, the Jews are following Quranic Law and the Sunnis are meant to oppose to that law [here it is how ]

Al-Quran indicate on 20:12 Allah order Prophet /Messenger Musa [P] to take his shoes OFF, since he was at special place and in contact with Allah [Swt]

Therefore it seem not illogical to take shoes off when making contact with Allah [Swt] through Salah?

    Abu-Dawud 2: Book Number: 2, Hadith Number: 0652
Narrated Aws ibn Thabit al-Ansari: The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Act differently from the Jews, for they do not pray in their sandals or their shoes.

So according to this so-called hadith, Sunni’s are oblige to pray with the sandals/shoes on, otherwise they will be acting like jews. But is all Sunni’s following this command, since I haven’t seen any Sunni’s doing as such, either in the Mosque or in privet, Is this mean the Sunni’s are hypocrite to their own hadith ?

    Peace.

Best English Translation for the Quran is Rashad Khalifa’s.His mother tongue is Arabic and he is 100% free from the influence of Hadiths.Do yourself a favour and read it.

I agree with you, except that he manipulated one verse to make himself Prophet.

      • Anonymous said

Rashad Khalifa did not make himself prophet but messanger. He was a hadith believer at one point in his life then found the true path and became solely believer of Quran nothing but Quran. His Masjid has this writing on his outside wall ” Happiness is Submission to God Alone” and when you go inside of his masjid this is what it writes on the wall ” When God alone is advocated, the hearts of those who do not believe in the hereafter shrink with aversion. But when idols are mentioned besides him, they rejoice” 39-45.

AOA,, i think ahadeeths r self contradictory there r many ahadeeths which r beyond the reasoning of human being. can any one please help me about the contradictions in ahdeeth,, i am giving u one example here.

    Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 4 :: Hadith 159

    Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas:

The Prophet performed ablution by washing the body parts only once.

    Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 4 :: Hadith 160

    Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Zaid:

The Prophet performed ablution by washing the body parts twice.

    Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 4 :: Hadith 161

    Narrated Humran:

(the slave of ‘Uthman) I saw ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan asking for a tumbler of water (and when it was brought) he poured water over his hands and washed them thrice and then put his right hand in the water container and rinsed his mouth, washed his nose by putting water in it and then blowing it out. then he washed his face and forearrlns up to the elbows thrice, passed his wet hands over his head and washed his feet up to the ankles thrice. Then he said, “Allah’s Apostle said ‘If anyone Performs ablution like that of mine and offers a two-rak’at prayer during which he does not think of anything else (not related to the present prayer) then his past sins will be forgiven.’ ” After performing the ablution ‘Uthman said, “I am going to tell you a Hadith which I would not have told you, had I not been compelled by a certain Holy Verse (the sub narrator ‘Urwa said: This verse is: “Verily, those who conceal the clear signs and the guidance which we have sent down…)” (2:159). I heard the Prophet saying, ‘If a man performs ablution perfectly and then offers the compulsory congregational prayer, Allah will forgive his sins committed between that (prayer) and the (next) prayer till he offers it.

who is right, abdullah bin zaid or ibn abbas… should i wash myself once, twice or thrice,,, which one is right arent they contradict each other.

    regards

    salaamalaikum ,

may allah show me the right path ,

i read quran and hadith and YES i found some hadith contradicting Quran.
its from bukhari and muslim which is considered as the most reliable ,

but at the same time i think that rejecting all the hadith because these faults is wrong .

for example – Quran says that come to prayer when you are called on friday to pray in group(in mosque ) ….( the way of praying in group can not be known without inspecting hadith )

not all the companions of prophet was hypocrites .

so i think that inspite of rejecting all the hadith the Pool of the called ‘SAHIH HADITH ‘ should be reduced by removing the contradictory , unscientific and the hadith which insults the prophet, etc.

There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.(Quran 33:21) ,

to know the pattern of life of prophet read hadith but in the light of quran …..and dont lay entirely on hadith and dont get divided on the basis of hadith….
