Saddam Hussein final moments.

Posted by QB on December 31, 2006

This is what reported by TheAustralianNews.com.

TO the very end, Saddam Hussein was defiant – and delusional – boasting to onlookers of his victories against the infidel “enemies” of his war-ravaged and impoverished country.

“Why did you destroy Iraq, and destroy us?” asked one of the guards escorting the fallen Iraqi dictator to the gallows. “You starved us, and you allowed the Americans to occupy us.”Saddam hit back: “I destroyed the invaders and … I destroyed the enemies of Iraq, and I turned Iraq from poverty into wealth.”

The guard, according to The New York Times, cursed him: “God damn you.”

“God damn you,” Saddam replied.

Even on the brink of death on Saturday morning, Saddam had not forgotten the video camera recording his final minutes.

Just before he dropped through a trapdoor on a platform surrounded by a red railing, he shouted the Muslim profession of faith, “God is great and Mohammed is his prophet”, then added, “Palestine is Arab”.

“He was standing with the rope round his neck,” said Mowaffak al-Rubaie, the Iraqi Government’s national security adviser, who saw him die.

“The executioner started reading verses from the Koran, ‘There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger’. He repeated it twice and (Saddam) went down in no time.”

The hangman pulled a lever, and Saddam dropped silently about 1m through a metal trapdoor. Sami al-Askari, who represented Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki at the hanging, said he “heard his neck snap”.

Munir Haddad, an Iraqi appeals court judge who also witnessed the execution, said Saddam was “normal and in full control”.

“He was aware of his fate and he knew he was about to face death. He said, ‘This is my end. This is the end of life. I started my life as a fighter and as a political militant. So death does not frighten me.’ He said: ‘We’re going to heaven, and our enemies will rot in hell.”‘

The US jailers who had the custody of Saddam were ordered to surrender him to the Iraqi Government.

They offered him tranquillisers before handing him over but Saddam refused, according to one of his lawyers.

Saddam Hussein face his death with courage and dignity. The New York Times reported that Kurds were against the excution of Saddam Hussein and they wanted him to face trial for Kurds genocide but according to New York Times Bush regime wanted him to get executed immediately and pupplet Iraqi Prime Minister obeyed his master’s command. We all have to die one day but the way Saddam Hussein is murdered he will go in Arab history as their great leader.

At least Sadam should have been allowed to make an appeal after a judgement had been passed on him by the fisrt judge. According to the international law, one must first be tried on a fair basis and then after conviction the accused person has the right to appeal.
Considering the deaths that occured to his defence team (Lawyers who had vollunterily offered their service) Sadam should have been given ample time to look for another defence team.
Even after the judgement the court could have sentenced him to life imprisonment than death penalty. As to the look of things it might appear as if America directed the court hearings and the out come
Above all one must not be held accontable for an offence which he commited twenty years ago Where were Britain and America by then?.
Sadam”s life should have been spared considering the death of his two sons and other members of his family and the stress he endured whilst as a result of the deaths, after all the man was advanced in age.

Every man reaps what he sows. Saddam was a great figure. But does it lessen the value and human dignity of 5,000 people gased by saddam and his compatriots.

People always forget easily, think of the 148 people hacked to death by Saddam. Think of thousands of Kurds that persished in the mountains as a result of his rule. Think of government officials who tongues were cut.Are they dogs or robots.

I dont hate Saddam but i hate his works. Think about it…..All men are equal before the law and Allah.

Why in the world is not crying as a result of the death of our heroe Saddam. “He who kills by a sword shall also perish by a sword”. The gallows await Bush and all the Americans. We shall fight Bush and his people and all his supporters shall rot like maggots. We are calling for a Jihad against USA and Britain.

    September 11 team.

  6. Salamin Abdul Rajahel you are trying to play on the both sides USA and the majority and your second comments are clear contradiction what you said earlier.

Don’t be scared say what you believe is true. I will not block any comments either in favor or opposition of my opinion.

What’s the big picture? How do you manage Iraq? With multiple polarized internal and external populations, and with maximum foreign pressure, What do Western politicians mean when they talk about installing a “democracy” in Iraq? Which type of democratic model do they envision: Soviet, Fascist, European, American, Israeli, Russian … – they’re all, apparently, democracies?
Iraq, at one time, was USA’s darling, when Iraq helped neutralize the Moslem Brotherhood, which almost incinerated the Middle East. Then, with questionable maneuvering behind the scenes, Iraq hears threats of being “kicked into the stone age.”
I still remember Tarik Aziz, who outshone all his diplomatic colleagues; and the Iraqi Minister of Information, who captivated the world with his commentaries during the American and British invasion of Iraq.

i ,think what happened to sadam hussain was not fair , i personally dont know about politics or much government but the way he was treated was disgusting . He should never have been executed on eid , the americans got him executed but then blamed it on the iraqi government. every one was in on his death . No one has the right to taunt you before your death. The things that he was being taunted with i think his trial was played unfairly ,,,,,,everyone in this world has made mistakes but the way he was taunted in the gallows was disgusting and so low .

    Honestly,
He was a horrible dictator. He oppressed Iraq and waged war by taunting and hate crimes. He was a murderer and a coward. Just look at how the Coalition, found him hiding in a bunker as the Americans destroyed and pillaged his country. If he was so innocent, and played such a liberating role, then why is iraq in such upheaval. Why did he not destroy the “heathens”.
You are right, everyone has a right to die with dignity, and i guaruntee if you ask the families of some of his victims, he died the way he enforced law. A corrupt, but just the same, eye for an eye.
May you rot in hell Saddam.

Why does everyone always say Bush done this, Bush done that, Bush is guilty of this, Bush is guilty of that. You people first have to learn how American Government works. There are two types of people in America the Democrats and the Republicans. These are like the Sunni and Kurds. Yes, there is more, but almost everybody is a Democrat or Republican. These two groups disagree on almost everything. When the President wants to do something, like go to war, he has to get the approval of congress, which is made up of 535 men and women both Democrats and Republicans . If the most of the 535 vote to go to war, than we go to war. Than there is a third branch the Judiciary(the Judges), who can step in an call something wrong and stop it. All of these people are in there 50 to 80 years of age and are extremely educated, never been to jail, never did drugs, and have live an outstanding life. Yes, sometimes one is accused of something, but if true, he or she is very quickly forced to leave the job by his or her own party(republican or democrat). You see there are hundreds of people involved in the process and everyone one of the hundred has a hundred more giving them advice. It is not so easy to say lets go to war, like a leader like Saddam can. Most Americans do not want to be in Iraq, but Saddam by his own admission said that he lied about having weapons of mass destruction because he was afraid of Iran invading him. He said to an investigator I was just lying. So, you can blame Saddam-And yes I believe God, gave swift justice to Saddam for that.

I accidentally saw Sulamin abdul Rajahel comments. He is far from
the truth and I am really sorry for such fanatic opinions.
If he really belongs to September 11 team, he should know that killing innocents is against Islam view and I hope he will be put in jail for the horrible thing he did.
But at the same time,I am sure that the people behind that disaster were not Arabs. From the evidences you can guess who really organized that by the help of some stupid terrorists
